Michael Herklots of Davidoff Madison Avenue let me try a prototype of the new cigar he’s developing with Pepin Garcia. To learn more about it, head over to Cigar Reader.
Rolling a cigar isn’t nearly as easy as it looks … as I learned the hard way. Pepin Garcia makes it look easy, but he’s the master. My final product wasn’t all that bad. I did smoke it, and I enjoyed it. It turns out what I rolled was a 601 Red Label.
On my trip to Nicaragua last month, I had the opportunity to tour Pepin Garcia’s My Father cigar factory, wher some of my favorite sticks are made. Above, you’ll see Ron Melendi of De La Concha, where I hang out, trying his hand at the craft.
