A New Art Show on the Upper West Side

Need an alternative to the traditional gallery scene? Check out the new art exhibition on the Upper West Side. Ten artists, calling themselves 25CPW, have taken over a vacant commercial space on Central Park West. Their new show, 10 from 25: Emerging Artists Using Photography, will run through December 13, 2009. Read the whole story at Luxist.

Unlike most cigar manufacturers, Litto’s had a pretty good year. Even though he’s released two expensive cigars this year, La Flor has done a great job of resisting the recession.

I don’t know about you, but I never saw the parallels between mozzarella cheese and handrolled cigars. Fortunately, I was able spend a few minutes with Anthony Fauci of Obika, who filled me in on the details. This interview was conducted shortly before the most recent De La Concha cigar dinner that Obika catered.

img00031I’ve seen this guy pop up in my neighborhood from time to time. This is the first time I’ve actually seen him, until now, I’ve only spotted his van. I was much happier when he was only a theory. His sign shows that he keeps track of current events, not just the murder of John Lennon.
