French newspapers gives up on revenue under new bailout

dsc04623Okay, we all know that the print industry is completely and totally screwed. Circulation is plummeting around the world … leaving ink jockeys little hope of keeping their jobs for the rest of their lives (which is really their only goal anyway). They may have hope, however, thanks to an unusual French bailout plan. Leave it to French job protectionism to set a model for the rest of the world. The folks at the NY Timeswhich rain this story – must be salivating right now.

Quebecois Short Films: Hidden Gems

Film Festival Today just picked up the article I wrote on the Quebecois shorts screened at the Fantasia International Film Festival. These films were really a blast. They can be a problem if you don’t speak French. Even if you speak some French (as I do), it really does help to speak it well. But, it was a blast nonetheless.

So, if you get a chance, check out the article. I had a great time writing it, and of course, the films were fun as well. The Quebecois are funny folks, and they know how to make great film festival-style movies.
