Been Busy, but Worth It

The second half of December went as planned. I was running at a mile a minute and didn’t have half a chance to breathe. I seem to have found a break in the action a bit — just long enough for a bit of self-promotion. I have picked up a new travel writing gig (at Gadling), and I’ve been busy out in the market in general. Recent pickups are high profile …  some amazing publications and some not amazing.

More after the jump.

Okay, so let’s kick off with my new travel gig. As you may remember from my November meltdown, TraderDaily.com suspended my travel column, and I’m not confident that it will come back. So, I sought a new travel publication with serious fucking zeal and landed Gadling within a few weeks. I’ve been newdsc04041extremely happy at Gadling. Already, I have published 37 pieces so far, and I have more in the hopper. Recent stories include:

In Iraq, soldiers get a holiday break >>

Destination on the edge: Kabul >>

Tips for Adult Expo: Take a shower >>

Make your flight (and mine) easier this holiday season >>

Iceland with a prophetic viking >>

And, my profile on Gadling >>

And, that’s just the start of what I’ve had going on with my night’s and weekends. One of my Gadling articles, (Make your flight (and mine) easier …) was picked up by the Washington Post’s travel blog. The Post called me whiney … and it called me Tim. Fuckers. At least they gave me a link. Time had a description for me as well: romantic. I was interviewed for an article on travel as a gift, and I discussed the trip my wife and I took to Eze a few years ago.

Back in the porn business, Best Sex Writing 2009 is now on shelves, and it includes “War Games,” the article I wrote on the porn ban in Iraq for AVN Online. And speaking of AVN, I’m still busy with them. I was just quoted in a story on Penthouse Friend Finder’s filing for an IPO.
