More Digging on AIMRCo Porn Report: Total BS?

By now, you must have seen the press release issued by the Adult Industry Market Research Company, which claims that the porn industry is benefiting from Bush’s tax stimulus checks (http://www.aimrco.com/). Well, I think it’s total bullshit. Here’s the latest.
I have e-mailed Kirk Mishkin, Head Research Consultant of AIMRCo twice, and I have called him twice. I have not heard back. His cell phone, with a 646 area code (usually for cell phones in New York City) sure seems like a cell, as it has an outgoing message for “Kirk” rather than his company. Finally, the AIMRCo domain name was registered through GoDaddy.com on June 17, 2008. Further digging there was prevented by the fact that the domain name is registered through a domain proxy service.
Finally, I took a look at LSGModels.com and MoreyStudio.com, and they look like low-rent adult sites at best. Don’t get me wrong; they may be above-board businesses (they probably are). But, they are not major adult internet powerhouses. Of course, neither has listed contact information.
So, we are left with the question, is AIMRCo’s research real? Not likely.
